Last year 3 of us did a 75ish mile ride for my day. It was perfect, cool weather, just enough climbing, and the youngster (41) who mapped the route made the pace just right. Then 2 weeks later 4 of us did 85 miles with too much climbing for a friend's 61st b-day. It was actually pretty good although I had a moment or 2 when I wished for a lower gear.
A birthday ride in December in the Pacific North-WET is not in the cards until Climate Change really steps on the gas. Even a metric version is out of the question.
