There are some times when I look forward to the Sunday ride so much that I get the bike prepped early Saturday, and I'll find myself daydreaming about it all day. Then there are times when I feel blah, and it takes some actual willpower to get kitted up and get going. But no matter how I've felt before the ride, it's really rare for me to not find myself enjoying it once I'm out on the road.
I imagine with overtraining, every ride requires willpower and then you don't really enjoy it. Maybe like days I've had when I felt subpar before the ride to such an extent that I questioned whether it was a good idea to ride. Generally that feeling goes away within the first couple miles, but one day it was 20 miles before I really felt good.
