I'm guessing that the bulk of the time I spent refurbing an older bike ends up being spent on polishing the metal -- even more than the time I spend detailing the frame.
And the payoff for me? When I'm riding with my wife, and she's on one of the bikes that I've refurbished ... I basically get to marvel at the bright work -- whether on a sunny day or with heavy cloud cover.
It's a lot of work, but I like the ROI.
