Even still, I have a couple of other bikes on my radar, replacing my backup/trainer bike with a steel rig that I can beat up a bit more, and possibly even a new TT bike (frameset), as that aligns with my racing goals a bit more.

A note on Canyon - a local carbon repair guy gets lots of Canyon frames going through.... might not be the best quality. Having said that, a lot of people really, really like the way the Aeroad rides. I have my eyes on a Propel or maybe a Gen8 Madone, whenever that time comes. Might not be till next year.
It's not a pure aero bike per se, but I'm building up a Cervelo Soloist to fill this void. My budget isn't generous for this build, so when I had the opportunity to get a Soloist frameset for cheap, I couldn't pass it up. Wheels show up today(Reserve 57|64,) then I'll just be waiting on bars, di2 battery/wires, other misc stuff. I'm almost never road race, so it's hard for me to justify an expensive build. In the words of Ricky Bobby, "I want to go fast!"

I've had a few Canyons, never any frame quality issues. At least the areas inside the frame around the seat post, BB, and headset areas look pretty similar to any other modern carbon frame. My only cracked carbon issue I've had, was not actually on one of my Canyons, but on my 2014 Ridley Helium. Just looking inside the frame, I'd think it came out of the same factory as the Chinarellos if I didn't buy it new at a reputable shop. I'm sure the newer Ridleys are much better, but I'd rather not find out.
