I worked with a German guy who had a relative in Germany who started a business converting vehicles to propane, which was a huge savings over gasoline for drivers.
My friend went over there to work with him but came back and said once the government found out it was working they raised the tax on propane until it didn't save drivers anything to make the conversion.
