Bruised Saddle Care

I took a little spill on my ride to work this morning and scuffed the leather on my saddle a bit. It's a relatively new Ideale model 88, and I'm trying to take good care of it. The skin of the leather has been scratched and is peeling up slightly in back. Is there anything I should do (besides the usual Proofide routine) to heal that particular wound? Or should I stop worrying and leave it alone? I'd appreciate any help from those with experience with leather saddles. Thanks!
