Again, who has used Windows, Mac OS X and Linux as a desktop environment for an extended period of time (say longer than 12 months). Unless you have, you have no grounds to make comment on this subject. All you have in marketing hype.
Agree with you on the product marketing re: bikes disagree in IT. I dont think the marketing plays that big a role. I havnt seen too many corporates with 100,000 users letting people pick and choose what software they can have because of freedom of choice? Maybe they have a job to do and should use the tools provided without whinging about (typically MS).
Regarding, the second point, in IT for 15 years, my wife and I work for 2 of the three OS's you describe So I think I can make a comment. But I forgot if it aint bespoke then flame it...right?
