Bikes: 2006 Trek 5200, Avanti Corsa Pro, Giant Yukon, Ricardo Cro-Mo, 1992 Mongoose pro-comp, 1980 DiamondBack senior pro, 1980 Quicksilver... half a dozen other BMX bikes in various stages of completion.
Got a question for youse - a little while ago I was worried that my frame was cracked in the chainstay cos it was ghost shifting... after a real good look, what I thought was a crack was just a crappy weld that the paint didn't quite cover.
I've just about got the shifting problem sorted, but it's got me wondering about the bike in general and how suitable it really is for racing. 1994 Giant OCR1.
The faster I get, the more problems pop up - when I sprint, it just feels mushy, occasionally ghost shifts and my speedo magnet belts the sensor (4mm gap) I bought these wheels around xmas Shimano - 550's, are they known to be pretty flexy?.
I do all of my race sprints seated cos it feels so crap.
I've also noticed that spinning hard on the trainer, the bottom bracket sways 5-10mm.
Ya reckon I need another bike that's more suited - when I started racing, a few people said that an OCR1 should do me fer a while, but now I dunno...
