I regularly pad my commute home with an extra half hour of riding, and occasional weekend rides.

Now I'm not a competitive rider or anything, that would be a whole different ball of wax. But everyone needs hobbies.
Don't get me wrong. I don't hear it every time and she is reasonably understanding when she has been home all day watching my son. I usually pull the hobby/fitness card. She gets to go out for dinner or whatever with her friends almost every week and I stay home. We also ride as a family about once a week. It's just since I've taken up riding and fitness in general that I have to choose between that evening ride on the motorcycle and bike. Last year I chose the bike alot more and it helped me drop 50lbs.
