You have to understand that the reason prebuilt wheels became popular is that it took the hassle out of finding a good wheelbuilder. When they're few and far between, you either throw up your hands and just get Ksyriums or get some handbuilts by guys like Mike Garcia or Steve Gravenites or whoever.
Best wheels I ever had built were by a woman called Katie who used to run Bicycle Hospital in Nth Melb but has since retired to the Blue Mountains. However, Petri at Pushi in King Street does a bang up job and I use him for most of my builds.
Did a calc on those wheels. Cross three 32h front and rear, the first build is 1485g, second build with the lighter hubs is 1433. Sub 1400g if you go for funky lacing like radial front, x2/radial rear. Sub 1330g if you then go with lighter rims like the IRD Cadence, or about 1350 with DT RR1.1's.
Ksyrium SSL SLs are 1600-1624g on average.
What sort of dollars are they there days?
