We had a cat 3 rider from SoCal do a crit in A grade in January. He finished with the bunch after working hard to get a little break only to be caught. Race was won by 500m that day by Phil Thuaux who was riding for the Wismlak Team on the Asian circuit in 2005.

Now for the tricky bit: our club grades are 1/2 or even a full grade lower in standard than some of the Sydney Metro club races. That's due to the higher number of State Open riders who join in to make them a thrashfest. So you might end up being better off in B Grade if you race the bigger Metro clubs.

Also you might be able to hire a bike over here instead of paying freight/excess baggage costs to bring your own trusty steed. There was a discussion about it on this thread a while back when koffee brown was looking for some help for a friend who came over for a visit. I'll see if I can find it...
