Seriously, this can be an issue. I enjoyed commuting for the past 12 months with the knowledge that if I were sick or if a tornado was predicted, that I could call my wife and be rescued. One guy I work with said he would ride to work, but had nobody to call if he couldn't ride home. It was an inhibitor for him bike commuting.
