I'm no expert on rims at all... Maybe someone else will suggest another rim, or google "aero rim", search rim-makers' sites etc.

To me, almost all aero rims are pretty ugly, but deepvee especially. I'm not fond of the flat aero sections at all. Plus it is not deep enough to actually make a difference in aerodynamics, but you do get the weight penalty and the crosswind troubles. So you get zero benefit and all of the drawbacks (to a bearable extent, obviously. Neither the weight nor the sail effect are all that bad.)
The big selling point of it is that you can get it non-machined in candy colors. Real hipster stuff.

Riding aero rims in an urban environment is just not very clever. You make no use of the benefit they offer, because that only comes at higher speeds. The weight is a big minus if you have to stop and accelerate often, which you do in a city. Plus the high profile makes their ride harsher, again not much fun in pothole-land.

Sorry to bring this up in a thread about a new deepvee wheelset. I know they are perfectly fine rims for a good price, and I know I'm a jerk

The bottom line is, if you like the looks and don't mind the minor impracticality, nor the fact that everyone and their mother rides one, allá tú. I won't. Never ever.
