Preatty much, yes, I believe. Obviously, they are pretty solid rims, just like dozens of other rims. The deep profile makes them stiffer and stronger in a vertical direction than standard rims, which is of no use whatsoever, in any riding style or conditions. Arguably, it makes them less comfy to ride on, though. A rim has to be stiff and strong
