Everyone is different. You gotta find your own rythm - and strictly enforce it. I make sure I drink 4 x 750ml bottles of 1/2 strength Gatorade every 100km - two sips every 15min using the alarm on the Polar. The 2 extra bots are in an SPT (seat post thing - hangs off the back of the seatpost) - the further I ride the lighter the bike gets. Some ppl just take the crystals in a bag and find water enroute, but if it rains you may get a mess in your pocket!!!
Some bods in our club swear by Camelbacks. Its personal taste. I'd rather hang stuff off the bike than my back.
