I mean, my first response when someone says it can't be done is "Why not?". But then my husband will tell you I am a difficult female.
baaahhh !!! it CAN be done. Cyclo-cross forks are made for 700cc wheels, the suspension thing may not be a huge issue, as cross forks usually have a fair amount of room to fit large tyres and so should be almost as long as your suspension fork from crown to axle.
