Ya got whiplash my little brussel sprout. Probably should be wearing a brace (soft collar type would most likely work in this situation) but sore back and headache = whiplash type injury.
Take it easy and try and sit in chairs with high backs that support your head. That means off the bike for a few days until it all calms down. And if you're lucky you won't end up with a neck which periodically locks up due to muscle spasm (like mine still does after a Diahatsu 2 tonner ran into the back of my Corolla way back in '88)
On the subject of Volvos - has anyone read "Shibumi" by Nigel Trevanian (guy who wrote The Eiger Sanction) there is a lovely Volvo bashing theme running through the story.
