I am definitely leaving Lance out, although he was beatable by the pure climbers when they were on (Euskaltel's climbers did it a couple times). Unless you are comparing Basso to Lance, and despite the big Giro win, Basso is not even close. I was refering to the italian climbers that have tried for the Tour...Garzelli, Simoni, Visentini...and a bunch of others have all missed out because the Tour has always been biased toward the ITT specialists.
