I'm not really familiar to the older suspension designs, but just by looking at it i can see that it may need basic maintanence on the linkages. I assume that it uses bushings, not bearings. I can't really tell you anymore then that. (i've only been into mountain biking for a few years so my knowledge of older model parts is very limited)
