insurance is based on what the insurers predict what will happen. statistically, there is a much much greater chance you will need to be paid than someone in the rest of the states. should the rest of us pay more so you can be insured the same as us? i dont think so. i think it makes more sense for the underdog company to keep prices lower and cut the insurence on the bike theft hot-spot.
if i have the same car, am the same age, and have the same driving record as a female friend, i will need to pay more to insure my car. on the surface, its total bull**** - yes. but if you think about it from the insurer's perspective, it makes a lot of sense statistically.
