If you read the kryptonite link you'll see that it has to do with NYC law. They are not allowed to offer the anti-theft 'warranty' on their locks, so they are forced to offer 'insurance' instead. It seems to me that OnGuard has chosen not to offer insurance in NYC which may or may not say something about the company.

I can't really comment on ADT too much (I don't know their policies) but does their warranty cover just their system, or your entire house? Kryptonite warranties their locks (if the lock breaks, they replace it) but they don't 'warranty' your bike in NYC.
