14 speeds with shifters on the lower bar, but it's got a nice cr-moly frame, shimano 105 group, i'm sure I can do something with it, rather that sell it for a 100 bucks or so...

Congrats on the conversion. Anything you do to make a bike more enjoyable for you to ride is a thing worth doing. And if you can do it for less than a C-note, that's great!

I bet a set of bar-end shifters and a taller stem would make that road bike a lot more appealing.
