to reiterate, chainrings that aren't perfectly round cause slack in the chain during part of the revolution, which, when you're spinning along, tends to oscillate (sometimes violently), creating some noise and noticeable vibration.

clean the **** out of your chain, fix your chainline, check the chain tension, and replace the chainring if necessary.

white lightning & other wax based lubes, in my experience, can leave residue that makes cleaning a little more of a pain in the ass.
