Brass brazing is about 1600 degrees. Steel melts at about 2300 degrees. I didn't heat the fork blades up anywhere near a danger point.

How do you think rack mounts are attached on touring forks? or v-brake bosses to steel forks? Brazing or TIG (which is much hotter than brazing). Shouldn't be any problem.
