I started cycling about a month ago; and yes, the posterior pain goes away. Took mine about three weeks, but that's probably because there have been only three days in the past month I haven't rode, and I ride between five and twenty-five miles on average every day.
Be warned: You'll start looking at non-cyclists as overweight, lethargic lumps; pretty soon, you'll have your parents and girlfriend cycling, and friends will refuse to see you unless you can talk about something *other* then the last cool ride...
