Funny thing, when I go back I looked at my total time and it was exactly 2:00:00 hours! Yeah I know, 17 mph, but I was taking it somewhat easy as I knew I had to ride my bike into work today.
Somebody must have moved them back! We took it a lil easy on the way to the beach yesterday, but did a better pace on the way back. As fast as I could without dropping Gina and another rider that hadn't been out in a while. We did 17.2 yesterday on the singels and 17.4 on Saturday with the tandem, same ride.

BUT, average speed changes drastically with the time of day riding cause the wind kicks up.

Last year, I would do 2 out and backs from Weir Cyn. The second out and back was so much tougher cause the wind would kick up big time!

First O&B I would do 18 cruising near Imperial. Sercond O&B, I was lucky if I could do 15 pushing hard, same area.

Last year, a rider said that we were sissies on the SART cause he had to deal with hills and wind in his area. We gathered for a century from Greenriver to the San Gabriel trail. Then down to a park near the Walmart. Not sure if it's Downey area? He swore he could do a 5 hour century. The wind hit when we were on the return. We had a paceline of about 6 guys and couldn't keep it above 15. Ended up with a 6 hour.

He returned to try it again and suffered more the second time! Oh yeah, he's a Triple crown rider.
