I physically lock my chain around my waist for this exact reason. I used to just slide the lock through a link and leave it unlocked for quicker lockups, or throw it in my bag, but the temptation to bust some windows was too great.

Anyway, much respect to you sir. In addition to actually catching the guy who hit you, which is so rad, you demonstrated amazing self-control in not reducing his car (and his person) to a ruined mess. I hope your valiant behaviour is repayed with a huge bill for this assclown from your lbs and some killer upgraded components for you.
