The reunion rides are not by invitation; anybody who wants to register can. And as for the locations of the reunion rides, the '05, '06 and '07 rides were where they were only because some members in those locales volunteered to host them. Texas was discussed for '07, but nobody stepped up in time.

BTW, I don't see any reason why there couldn't be several reunion rides per year, as long as there was people to organize them. How about an April reunion ride in South Carolina?
