It's a long story, but I don't have a car at work today to get home. My original plan was to bring my bike with me, then do my intervals on my rather long ride home - the safest route between my office and house requires me to go way out of my way then come back.

But then this morning's weather report called for a good chance of severe thunderstorms with intense lightning and hail, so I left the bike at home and arranged a ride home from a coworker. Now it looks like the weather cleared up, and it's super sunny out, but I'll be at home doing my intervals on the trainer in the garage.

At least I'll finish up the final season of Deadwood today.

I'm gonna post my training plans here, because I feel like it, and because reasons. Again, I'm on the 4th "on" week, usually cap it at 3.

M 5/9 - 5hr z2 ride
T - off

Today - see workout above
F - 1 hr MTB easy,
S - 2.5 hrs w group ride, some z4 at Mt Soledad beforehand
Su - ~2ish hour team ride randomness

M - off
T - 45 min trainer AM, track "endurance night" PM
W - 3hrs highest Z2 I can manage, try not to pass out at work
Th - T of the following week: REST! Mostly off with 2-3 easy rides.

2:45 today @ z2, CTL is 50, Although I don't think it's really training if you don't have a target event and are just riding around lol

Trimmed my 3x30s to 3x20s yesterday and I'm still wrecked today. Rest day today. It's getting better, but AAARRRGGGGHHHH. Frustrating.

ETA: Z3, mind you. It's not like it's a hard 3x20.

I passed on a set of ZCIs so I could go on a ride with my son. That's a win-win.

Tuesday, 4 hour commute up the coast, some threshold on the hills.
Thursday, group ride, attacked a 1' climb, then hung on plus commute, 3.5 hours.

Tomorrow, race a big crit on an old 8 speed. Should be fun! My S5 frame repair is complete but I can't pick it up til morning.

Cat's Hill on an 8 speed nice! Does it have down-tube shifters too?

That would be impressive. Actually, impressive either way. Good luck - I'll be there hanging on in the p1/2.

Training has been more consistent last month or so for me, CTL finally up to 80.

Rest week this week, but not letting CTL drop, keeping it steady.

Masters "natz" crit on the 26th, ready to get in a bunch of riding/racing starting next week.

"Tapering" for big races just leaves me flat; plus it's just a crit, so no taper really required I figure.

after doing two (ok more like 1.75) twilight crits last night (finished up at like 9pm) for some reason i thought doing a 60 mile organized gravel ride ("not a race") at 9am was a good idea. it started off really hard, but i made the front group of ~7 guys. then after about 90 minutes my legs got sad and i got dropped and ended up in the second group, which was also hard. then i flatted, but was kind of happy about it. i'm pretty destroyed and debating if i should skip my workout tomorrow to do a recovery ride then hit it hard mon/tue/wed (at a work conference so off the bike thur-sat) or do a workout tomorrow then recovery monday then a hard tue/wed. i'm leaning towards the former, but my heart-rate based PMC is telling me i'm just a wimp.

Rode to the ride with some teammates, rode the ride (3d on two of the sprints, just couldn't get around those damn college kids), rode home. 95miles, 305tss. I need a burrito and a nap.

Kind of similar, except my ride to the ride is only 2 miles. Also, ride cut short due to an accident on the ride today. Guy slammed into the back of a car while going 35+ attempting to bridge between chase group and break. A handful of us stopped to help him out and convince him to take the ride being offered by the car he hit. We rerouted and caught back up with the ride. Only 40-ish miles and like 150 tss. No burrito, but I ate some watermelon and just woke up from a nap.

I guess not too similar after all.

No it has brifters. And it was anything but impressive. Last year I got 10th. This year, at the start line Impreza_aL says he will make it 5 laps, I say I'll make it 6. He was right I was wrong. I lasted 5 as well.

But I got my frame back, put on the new cassette, rings, chain, derailleur and tested it out. Not shifting as crisply as I'd like, but I think it's the old cables/housing.

going to err on the side of more recovery today, although i hate wasting a weekend day on an easy ride. even though 3 days next week are off the bike, it doesn't make sense to dig myself a hole two weeks out from ksr.

Rode yesterday than spent a few hours pulling up tiling in the bathroom, which required me using all the force from my legs to pull them up. Woke up this morning with sharp pains in the groin, last time I had this pain it was a hernia, so hopefully its nothing.
