Whoa. Power difference was more like 20-30w today, dammit. Think that's enough for me to pull the trigger on a quarq.

I've been doubting my power numbers from the stages, so the past two days I've had a powertap and a second garmin so I can compare numbers. Yesterday's efforts all showed 10-15w lower on the Ptap that was all climbing. Today I was on the flats, so I'll be interested to see if that makes a difference. Not sure how much drive train losses account for that 10-15w too.

Oof .. shattered the small chain ring on my cross bike at the base of a 1,700 foot climb 25 miles from the car with another 1,000 foot 10% climb between the two. No fun ...

Didn't ride Saturday (worked with my dad all day, then went to a party). 2.5 hours yesterday, including a 10 minute interval to see if my legs wanted to ride hard. 10 minutes at 278 watts, which is right where I wanted to be at (last FTP test was 277 average). Would have kept it going, but my hamstrings were pissed off from working all day Saturday.
Weather is looking ****ty this week, which probably means trainer intervals, unless I feel like dealing with 30mph winds on Tuesday :\

I appreciate the advice on replacement stuff from my car incident. Need to get back to the home shop. Going to try and see them on Tuesday night or so.
Tried to race this past weekend in MT, but the altitude got to me + sinuses/allergies acting up. Sitting here typing this while I'm waiting for the dr.
Coupled between the crash and a ****ty weekend of trying to hang with the big boys, only 512 TSS last week. My lowest week of training since at least December. Hopefully I can kick this infection quickly before racing gets back next weekend. Feel like I'm falling behind compared to the guys I race with every weekend.

@TMonk and @wktmeow At Fiesta Island ITT on Sunday, SDBC announced that the City of San Diego plans to convert Fiesta Island to a bike path only and probably there will be no more Fiesta Island TTs at some point in time.
And one can wonder what conversion to a bike path means in practice - limited speeds, two way traffic, dogs on leashes and etc or a better safer venue for TT and other racing and training efforts.

I honestly thought that any time Fiesta was mentioned that it was in reference to Zwift. It's a real place?! My life is a lie.

Not quite sure what you're getting at.

I subtly adjusted the text of yours I quoted from "on a Quarq to "with a Quarq" if that gets you any further towards understanding the crisis hotline response. If that still isn't clear enough, SKY's marginal gains are measured on STAGES power meters.
Conversation is just a really advanced form of posting on the internet.

No racing for at least 3 weeks... busy this weekend, in Mexico next week for spring break, nothing on the calendar the weekend after. So I did a good old fashioned "ride hard for 3 hours" ride that is probably terrible for race fitness, but it was a lovely day out and I had fun.

Currently, Fiesta Island is an island in the middle of Mission Bay. It has a public road that circles the island and has one way car and other traffic. As such, it is a public road and venue.
Time trials are held on the island and the City of San Diego closes the road to traffic and removes any vehicles that are on the island. There are signs posted for a week announcing the event and closing the island for the racing.
So the racers have the island to ourselves for several hours in the morning.
What I think is going to happen is the City of San Diego made a deal with private investors to develop the island is some manner that includes a bike path. So it will no longer be a public road under the control of the city. And it is unknown (by me) what the bike path will be and what, if any, rules posted.
The race promoter thinks it will end the racing on Fiesta Island.
I train on Fiesta during the week when it is not closed to traffic. In general, it is okay but many times cars can be unpredictable and turn off the road or slow suddenly. And riding with traffic, one has to be aware of this. On occasion, I will shut down an effort to anticipate that a car may slow and etc but it is no big deal.
Possibly, the new bike path may offer a better way to do efforts without shutting down for cars and dealing with the car traffic. Or it is worse due to dogs, pedestrians, skateboards, hover boards and etc.

Have you actually contacted the city of SD through the email listed for their ongoing study on the official Fiesta Island website? Maybe they are taking a common sense initiative to remove vehicles from the island altogether. Bikes on the road and pedestrians everywhere else.

Hmm, interesting news about Fiesta. I rely on it to complete many of my routine workouts and as a way to fulfill my volunteer requirements during the TT. Thanks the the news @Hermes, I'll be staying tuned.
On that note, I'll be heading there tomorrow morning for a 2x20 workout at ~98%

2x30' @ 90%. Felt terrible for the first one. Much better on the second. Going to be traveling Friday and Saturday, so I'm going to try to push my TSB way down before then.
