I'm new to the jumping thing but have been doing a bunch of it lately and I'm really into it. I feel like jumping for maximum height is not really the point, unless you are training for a box jump height competition. I think form is much more beneficial than height. I lowered my jump height to a level I can confidently make every time, even on the 60th jump. I focus on jumping high (getting a few inches over the box) and then making a flawless super-soft landing. It feels much "stronger" to make a soft landing from a few inches over the box, than to desperately get your feet just barely onto the box.

Did my fitness test today. 20 mins @ 282 avg power, 284 NP. 155 avg HR. Weighed 161 lbs this morning so that puts my ftp somewhere around 3.65 w/kg.
The denominator is dropping but still need that numerator to go up.

Felt a bit sick again once I started pedaling but slowly felt better as I went. My legs felt like they needed the miles, I kept it to 3hrs and ~.65 so it was hard enough to sweat some of what is left out but pretty chill overall.

Broken hand trainer intervals last night.

Also, it now says, "Pro" on the dirt section when I log in to my USAC account...which requires a hefty license fee I don't want to pay until the new year. So, once my hand heals, I'm stuck in a no-mans land, in that I can't race, as I technically don't have an active license.

So, I've got that going for me, at least.

Junior put in over 20 hours this week in gym, boat and bike. He says he lost 15lbs since our week off - 3 weeks ago touring colleges. I don't believe that is real weight. The boat time is much more interval based where they float around then do very intense intervals. He's gone crazy training now and I have no idea what will result by Feb. Too much, in too much IMO, but kids can do things adults cannot.

didn't get home from the airport until ~1AM last night so it was another week of half assed commute openers, after two days off the bike. whatever. racing cross tomorrow, just hoping for the best. looks like next week i'll be forced off wed-sat as well due to work travel. sigh, being an adult sucks.

Supposed to be 4-5hrs with 6x15min sweet spot but hodang is PE off relative to wattage. Pulled the rip cord and activating end of season/rest week protocols.

GC is turning himself into a sprinter, and I'm becoming a solo guy. Rolled off with a guy about 8 minutes from the finish of the fred ride. Dumped him two minute later and rode 6 minutes solo at 375.

did an hour at tempo pace today with 30 second surges every 4 minutes. 2:45 total for 193 TSS.

October totals: 42 hours 2,989 TSS New Max 20 and 60 minute power numbers (yesterday and today). Time to overindulge on the candy

Local hillier hammer ride. Smaller slow group today. our team had 3 of the 25-30 on the ride. We did well and "won".
45 miles about 2 hours and 190 TSS.

I went to a David Bowie exhibition in London that featured his work and a history. Bowie had a machine that made up phrases and combined words that made no sense but ultimately sounded cool together. I assume KPG has a similar device or he is just brilliant and makes up crazy sht! just to make our heads explode.

You earn 100 TSS for an all out, 100%, 60-minute workout. Of course most workouts are not completed at 100%, so most workouts will accumulate less than 100 TSS per hour.
That would be a lot of work indeed.

If you do a one minute interval hard enough you open a hole in the space time continuim allowing you to ride for an hour longer then what is perceived by everyone else including your computer, the tss will continue to be counted but the timer stops. I don't really understand the science myself but it's what I've been told anyway.

Heavy rain for the last 2 weekends, hoping it clears up enough for a ride later where I'm going to steal TKP's idea and do 4 to 6x15 at about 90%.

Dunno ... I tend to get higher TSS on rides when several hard short efforts (45-60s) are thrown in. That was pretty much how yesterday played out. Next time I'll just write "rode hard today and now I feel tired".
