Whether it's a completely new outfit, or you're just selling your soul to a previous rival (my case).
Let's hear:
1) Team name
2) State/Region
3) Big races your team plans to do.
4) Your goals as part of your new team this year.
Happy Holidays!

Easton/SugarCRM/Specialized
Bay Area California, however we have members in other states as well
Our team puts on 2 crits one of which began over 30 years ago-Cats Hill Classic
https://www.catshill.org/
Our team does all forms of bike racing so it really depends on what each wants to do
I assume Sea Otter Classic will be big.
My goals are to start racing and move up to cat4
I will be doing crits and flatter road races, I love climbing, but its not my strong suit yet.

1) Team name - University of Kentucky Collegiate Cycling Team
2) State/Region - Kentucky/Midwest
3) Big races your team plans to do - out of conference suggestions so far:
February:
Sat Feb 9 Schabobole Road Race California, KY
Sun Feb 10 Mentor-Maysville Road Race California, KY
Sat Feb 16 Frosty Toes Road Race Croton, OH
March:
Sat Mar 1 L'Esprit Road Race Lagrange, KY
Sat Mar 8 Henryville Classic Road Race Henryville, IN
Sat Mar 15 Open Kentuckiana Spring Series Date KY or IN
Sat Mar 22 Central KY Wheelmen Race Elizabethtown(?), KY
Likely most of those will be changed for our conference races when that is figured out.
4) Your goals as part of your new team this year - Be capable of keeping up with the 3's so I can hopefully move up to a 2 in two years; expose our team to the region to bring in more riders, sponsors, and support (this is only our second year); win a cat 5/college d race; support or become part of a team that goes to nationals - not so likely, but itd be cool.
id personally also like to make it to a point where i can afford to build up a nice bike i was fit for financially, and become more active in our cycling community in lexington.

1) Athletes By Design Category 1/2 feeder team for the ABD/**** ******** Pro Development Team.
2) Midwest.
3) SuperWeek, some NRC races, all the local crits and state champs races, Elk Grove and hopefully the Elite crit nats if I'm a Cat1 by then.
4) Help my team out in any way I can in big races, get enough points to upgrade. Start racing on the track for real, maybe win a state championship in the points race in whatever category I find myself when that rolls around. Travel far enough away to do a race involving some serious climbing, and crush souls.
Our team puts on 15 or so races each year, so I'm going to be volunteering at those in the mornings this summer. I also might become a ride leader for the Monday easy rides, keep the young whipper snappers in line so they don't burn out.

1. UNC-Chapel Hill for collegiate races, and I am going to join the Fastcoaching team for uscf races (we have 4 or 5 young ambitious cat threes that probably all want to cat up so I hope there's no internal strife there)
2. NC
3. hopefully i'll make it to almost all the ACCC races and maybe do a stage race or 2 in the summer
4. goals - be decently competitive in collegiate A's and go to nationals if our team qualifies, and get results in Cat 3 with the best case scenario being catting up this year

Yeah it's a massive club and they put on all sorts of events. They focus on ABR, at least event promotion wise, but I'm surprised that they haven't tried to put on a SuperWeek race yet. They have the money and the legions of volunteers needed to do it.
I actually live right across the street from their main shop (they have two now) so it was just a matter of time before I joined their team. If you do any of their indoor TT series this year and need a place to stay or something, let me know.
Pretty pumped to be riding for them, even as a supporting rider. They won the amateur NRC rankings in 2006 and have produced 7 or 8 pro's since 2000, so I think I'll learn a lot from the older and more experienced guys on the team.

2)Midwest
3)All ABD events, plus: Tour of Winghaven, Gateway Cup races, IL state championships, anything cyclocross
4)Help the team produce results at the Cat 3 level anyway possible.
Interesting to note that you also are a new member at ABD. I raced for Team MACK the last two years and look forward to riding for ABD. I'll probably see you at quite a few events.

1) Team Name- Team Spin Bike Shop
2) State/Region- North Eastern Ohio / Wherever
3) Big Races- The team is still new, but it's well structured. It's composed mostly of Cat 3's and a couple of 2's. Whatever races pique our interest.
4) Your goals as part of your new team this year- Money at the Giro Di via Italia, Top 3 in the Pursuit at Nationals, Top 25 in the TT at Nationals, 165mile TTT in Michigan

From what I hear, it sounds like ABD should have a pretty good Cat3 presence again. All of their guys from 2006 left for Get A Grip and Clif Bar, and I don't think I saw a single guy from ABD in the 3s this year.
Did you do Soulard (spelling?) this season?

Ah, a sMACK. Good to see that you're leaving the dark side. Two of my mentors ride for Delta and didn't appreciate sMACK tactics (or basic attitude towards racing in general) from time to time. You probably weren't a part of that, though. I must say that Clark P. is one hell of a bike racer, and a nice guy to boot.

Stone, his son, and some other guys from school are pretty much the reason why I got where I am now. Taught me the ropes of bike racing. Amazing people, great personalities, and hard as steel. I don't know Druber THAT well, but he's always been very friendly and outgoing the couple of times I've been on rides with him, or seen him at the races.

3) Bisbee, Hood, & Cascade stage races & most of the local races.
4) Race as a team, have fun and win.

I'm shopping for a team with a strong M35+ squad right now. The team I really want to be on is not adding members. A couple other teams I was looking at (AT&T/B&S, Team Hotel San Jose, and Austin Bikes) aren't a good fit for an M35+ racer (mostly everyone races categories).
Now I'm looking to talk to Southwest Cylcesport, and I heard that Solar Eclipse is going to expand and create an Austin squad (San Antonio based team). So, I'll look there.
I'm not looking for any discounts, just strong teammates to race with, and not a lot of volunteer burden. If I can't meet these goals, I'll stay unattached.

That is if you were in NC. These guys are awesome. I'm a personal friend of one of the riders. I can't say enough about him as a cyclist and a great guy in general.
Sorry, but your post made me think of them.
