I'm shopping for a team with a strong M35+ squad right now. The team I really want to be on is not adding members. A couple other teams I was looking at (AT&T/B&S, Team Hotel San Jose, and Austin Bikes) aren't a good fit for an M35+ racer (mostly everyone races categories).
Now I'm looking to talk to Southwest Cylcesport, and I heard that Solar Eclipse is going to expand and create an Austin squad (San Antonio based team). So, I'll look there.
I'm not looking for any discounts, just strong teammates to race with, and not a lot of volunteer burden. If I can't meet these goals, I'll stay unattached.

Fine.
1) Athletes By Design Category 1/2 feeder team for the ABD/**** ******** Pro Development Team.
2) Midwest.
3) SuperWeek, some NRC races, all the local crits and state champs races, Elk Grove and hopefully the Elite crit nats if I'm a Cat1 by then.
4) Help my team out in any way I can in big races, get enough points to upgrade. Start racing on the track for real, maybe win a state championship in the points race in whatever category I find myself when that rolls around. Travel far enough away to do a race involving some serious climbing, and crush souls.
Our team puts on 15 or so races each year, so I'm going to be volunteering at those in the mornings this summer. I also might become a ride leader for the Monday easy rides, keep the young whipper snappers in line so they don't burn out.

back on topic: congrats! That looks like an interesting team there. Will it "only" be for '08, are they just testing the waters, see some results and go from there?

Rocket, don't dismiss Austin Bikes. Bo Evens (you raced with him at Pace Bend last year) and Dan Dowe both ride for AB and they are trying to form up a 35+ team. Bonus they both live in your neighborhood. The three of us were going to try to build a 35+ team for '08 and I know they are still interested. If you want I'll get you in touch with them. I also am good friends with Sol at AB if you want me give him a call.

I haven't seen an official release of the merger yet...
...and I don't know any of the details.
Not knocking the GG guys but ABD would still get results regardless of what other teams they merge with, if any. But, having some more fast guys, particularly those two, doesn't hurt.

Here's my teams...
Team: University of Texas Cycling
Location: Austin, TX
Goals: Help grow the team, develop it into more of regional power, etc. Wreck shop at any collegiate Time Trials. Race some USCF MTB Races.
Team AT&T Brain and Spine Cycling
Location: Austin, TX
Goals: Race all USCF Road Races in Texas, in trying to get to 3's this year (and beyond for next year...). Wreck shop at Fayettville stage race, State TT's. Also do well at AT&T crit (I'll take a pack finish this year), and Pace Bend. Otherwise, help other people on the team out with their goals!

I'm looking for a new team here in SoCal but haven't found anything that really peaks my interest. Might be racing unattached next year.

Ah, sorry that didn't work out. They a bit elitist?

They were polite, and honest, I felt. Maybe "exclusive" would be a better word. Several team members have been either presidents or high up in the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Six is about who you know not how fast you are...if I had stayed in Austin I probably could have got on with them, my best friend is on the team. It's a great team if you want to work for John in the 35+ races. Personal glory is for other cats.
Honestly you should reconsider Austin Bikes. It could become a good 35+ team with the right combo of guys...you would fit that bill perfectly.

I changed teams just so I could post here. Okay, not really but it did get me thinking and I changed teams in the end.
Name: Connecticut Coast Cycle
State/Region: Connecticut coast. lol. Fairfield County, CT
Big races: Fitchburg is about the only big one that comes to mind, but I probably won't be doing it.
My goals: Ride with a friendly bunch of Cat 3s and see if we can't make something happen in races. Promote my race series and their single day race. Teach one of their guys how to sprint (that was the catch to joining lol). Hopefully help some of the 5s and 4s move up.
I'm no "serious" racer - that went out a long time ago. But I like riding in a team, riding for others when I can, and miss that from 10+ years back when I had a big team.
My former team is my own team so that's a bit odd. Carpe Diem Racing (hence my BF name). Anyone who is unattached and doesn't want to pay unattached fees can select Carpe Diem Racing from the drop down menu online. I'll be keeping the team alive ($125 a year I think) just because I have sentimental feelings for the name.

1. Roaring Mouse Cycles
2. San Francisco Bay Area
3. Not sure if they are "big", but in the beginning we're specifically at: Snelling, Merco crit/RR, Merced - In general: Everything else
4. First full season on this (or any team), upgrading to 4 after the Early Birds and surviving from there on out. Be in good enough form by mid summer to do well at the Albany crit and not be burnt out by Benicia. Otherwise do as many races as I can and find out which ones I like the best. Learn as much as possible.
I go to UC Berkeley, but since I live in San Francisco and I've been riding with RMC I haven't been able to meet any of the Cal Cycling riders, though I'd like to. From what I hear it's not uncommon for collegiate racers to race WCCC races with Cal and everything else with their regular team and at least one thing I'd like to take away from Cal by the time I graduate is having raced with them.

I can take Korioth in a sprint, so I just need to get into a position to sprint with him. He's fast as hell though, and he's good at timing his break launches. I'll get him though

Just joined Team City (City Bike Works in Sacramento). It's the shop where I bought my race bike and have most of my mechanical work done and last time I was in I just asked about the team. I know one guy from work who's on the team and I'm looking forward to meeting my other team mates and getting the new kit. This is goinng to be fun!

Not really racing for total new team but our club is forming a branch thats more results oriented. In the past its been pretty much every man for her/himself but those that were selected for the racing team will be required to race key meets and above all show results either by podium or teamwork (or you will be out).
Trying to build something that will make our racers stay with the club and bring in new talent.
