The college bar had $2 pitchers of keystone for a couple hours tuesday and friday nights. Made it worth both going to the bar and drinking keystone.

This really hit home while I was working in the Oakland fire...a couple found their cat which had survived by finding a hollow spot under their driveway. I've little doubt from their reaction that they felt the house was far less important; it was complete gone and they never looked twice at what was left, their attention was completely focused on getting the cat water and to a vet.

Across from, or near, the quad? Was it ever in a different location? Is/was there more than one? (I lived under the Citgo sign for a couple years.)

I've never really been on facebook. I just spent an hour wandering around logged in under my wifes account.
Bad memory overload - now I feel nauseous.

That $hit sucks though and is pretty boring, albeit useful.

Got out of one of the biochem kids' senior seminars earlier. I had almost no idea what was happening. Atleast all of the sugar from the chocolate chip cookies they brought kept me awake.

whatever my opinion of him in general, Michael Creed wrote a good blog post today that has me motivated.
I got a bunch of errands done after work, ran into my neighbor who had another 15's of thoughts on training and advice for me. Ate a simple dinner, going to get a touch of work done, go to bed, and get up for some bike riding pre-work tomorrow morning.

Making a kilometer blurry
The OS is probably going to be pretty badass, but it's coming into a market with two existing badass operating systems (three if you count the enterprise side). The market is saturated, and I don't think iPhone users want for anything (other than consistent voice connection). Same with Android and RIM users -- they're pretty happy (or tied up in RIM at work). I don't think anyone has been holding off on a phone purchase waiting for WM7. Tough to crack this nut, I think.
I agree the app library will make a huge difference. Android development is extremely accessible and has some nice powerful tools. A great profiler, PC-based file management. Signing/certification as a build step, debugging that works so well that it feels native, etc. If WM7 can nail this experience, it will help a lot. I'll be getting a few of these phones at work, and how my experience starts off will greatly influence our decision to move forward with platform support. Also, the development community for Android is great. Lots of samples, tutorials, and conversations going on. Great sample apps from Google.
Regarding which apps to make: a browser as nice as Dophin HD on Android (tabbed, gestures, quick access to useful tools, extensions). Other than that, look at what people are downloading on the iPhone or Android. Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Acrobat Reader, Flash, Gmail, Maps, Text-to-Speech Nav (voice controlled), augmented reality goodies (compass, gyros, and GPS needed), Angry Birds, RoboDefense, Netflix, a decent scientific calculator (RealCalc on Android), etc. etc.

Interesting blurb in NG about the resurrection of the abacus in teaching math...very effective for some kids.

Heading up to the Tahoe Rim Trail tomorrow after I finish some 'round the house projects. Snow's melted so the trails will be buffed and tacky, temps are perfect. Top of the world to ya. Some incredible views and the altitude and weathering produces remarkable fauna...giant marble shaped granite boulders, huge scree fields and ancient gnarled pines. It's a utterly hostile environment that seems completely benign until the storms roll in.

I thought my prof for that class should have recorded his lectures and sold them to cure amnesia. The only thing I remember using linear algebra for was simplifying matrices for circuits, although it seems like I have to have used it for more.
