No riding today despite the gorgeous weather. Instead I went to the yoga class my wife teaches in yoga and took a class with her which was great; I sweated more than I have in a long time...at least in those copious amounts. The stretching felt wonderful then I came home to spend the rest of the day at Home Despot to finish a bathroom repair.

I wish I coulda made that ride. Ah well. Seems like it all went well. I hope a friend Rob C (Bikeway?) made it out. I used to live about 15 min ride from that Starbucks.

Dunno. I knew about 5 people there.

Built up a BMC promachine today. Couldn't get the front ultegra brake to center. I think the owner cut the housng too long.

Spent from this week. Feels good though.

Cat III wunderkind realized he won Anniston last year. He thought he was 6th. The guy has the points to be a Two but wants to wait until after Athens. He rides 3-6 hours a week. Bastard.

Big Ten sure looked rough today. Time to watch a movie I think. Watched "The Exorcist" last night. Good movie. Not really scary in my opinion, but very well done and freaky.

TCU.

The Exorcist was scary as hell when it came out...more so if you were raised Catholic.

[QUOTE=hammy56;12012114]so this is the issue...if my knee/thigh remain stationary, and I turn my lower leg too far (heel goes outward) I get a nasty pain in the back/lower part of my knee (or upper calf?). Obviously a tendon or ligament. Walking, as well as pedaling arent a problem at all. A few hrs after a ride my upper calf area might feel slightly sore. No amount of stretching feels tender or sore...QUOTE]

I have something very similar. It's taken a month off the bike to even realize it's in my calf, not the back of my knee. Seems a lot like a runner's calf "heart attack" and has been improving when treated as such (very light riding, heat, ice, compression, the stick, tiger balm).

yeah like I said, it seems like its the top of the calf...Im using tiger balm, and the stick. Light riding? Umm...

its strange, it only hurts with the twisting action. Its not even slightly sore to the touch, or when riding, nothing. just odd.

1 group started in Southbury and rode to Bethel Cycle. Then every left from there down to Fairfield, stopped at Starbucks (or not), along the beach, back roads back up to Bethel, or split off back to Southbury. 50 miles from the shop, 70 from Southbury.

It's an annual ride, weather permitting.

Maybe you have an idea: right behind my right knee, every time I ride, hard or easy, starting immediately, it hurts. Not bad hurt, but enough.

I'll have to go read it.

I just finished "Shutter Island". Good, but I saw it coming somewhat early. Still very good though.
