off to go ride my guts out for an hour to calm the nerves, and then go try to spend more money than I've ever spent on any item before in my life.

wish me luck boys.

You have just pre-empted all of my prepared excuses for the coming race season. Now i have to come up with a new set of lame excuses.

I really do wish that the docs could cure that "FTP of a toddler" thing I have going on. I hate that.

You don't need a luck when you have someone on whom it's worthwhile to spend the money in the first place. Well done & congrats.

The seals weren't the problem. The seals are latex, but they were fine. It's just the getting the arms into place, and the head in the right place, that's the problem. The zipper isn't all that long.

Looks like the next blast is on its way. Wasn't able to get out for supplies so I set a few dead falls for the neighborhood cats...just in case.

Just bought a set of skull candy ink'd headphones. First order of business was opening them on the bus home and promptly dropping all the ear attachment thingies on the ground...

Just 'stole' the ones from the broken headphones. Crisis averted!

The downside of hot weather.

I rode today. I didn't even regret it while wiping down the bike, though I probably should have. When you have to stop a few times in your ride to scrape ice from your glasses, it might be god's way of saying that you shouldn't be on a road bike.

Which is why I rented cross country skis this weekend. But of course now it'll just keep raining ice pellets and slush until April.

yeah I have no interest in doing that anymore. I used to troop it in all sorts of bad weather and had my share of minor traffic incidents as a result, fortunately nothing bad. As I get older that seems less and less appealing especially when I want to accomplish specific goals on rides; avoiding ice, cars, and slippery manhole covers aren't conducive to riding the way I want to.

Had a brisk commute this morning. 18F. I overdressed slightly and had to pull my hands out of the gloves every five minutes to let the 20mph headwind dry them off.

Other than that, it was a comfortable ride.

Sometimes when you're up and flying high (like my training session this morning) it precedes a nice face plant.
