Dude, who thought about putting an oreo INSIDE a freaking chocolate chip cookie.

A friend made these and I am SO glad that I'm nowhere near them. If she comes at me with them, I'm going to take off running in the other direction.

Yeah, I checked it. I'm not sure I like the idea that much. Sitting down with a column of Oreos is just so much simpler.

I'm still curious about that poor girl's recovery from the popped collar incident though.

I had to drive today, and the traffic in Austin has gotten horrible. Holy crap. At least I was able to bring the bike for hell repeats at lunch, but I'm on the soccer practice circuit this afternoon, so no commute home.

We heard some more from the new girl (beast) who wanted to join our team. Apparently during the race last Saturday she overheard a few of our girls talking as it became apparent that it was coming down to a field sprint. Our sprinter told our leadout girl to go find me to sweep for her (not realizing I had been dropped 9' in due to a weirdo asthma attack). She told us that as soon as she saw that she said "that's the team I want to be on." Awesome.

How is this for a mixed bag from your coach....

Your FTP is higher than you've been testing! Your AP for the two races were both higher than your power test. I'm bumping it up. Your weaknesses and strengths are the same as last year -- low FTP but extraordinary anaerobic ability. It's not a terrible problem to have (it can win sprints if you make it to the finishing line), but you really need to start focusing on the sustained (mostly trainer) efforts a lot more.
I guess i have always known this intuitively. You had to know something was up when you have a slow fat guy like me finishing races and covering moves yet has the ftp of a small woodland creature. Also explains why I stay in a race when my teammate with lower weight and same ftp gets shelled. Also explains why I cry every time I have to do steady state work ont he trainer but when VO2 intervals came up I was all smiles while everyone else exploded......hmmm.....

...this should mean I could actually win some stuff considering everything comes down to a sprint around here.....maybe I should focus and try.

- or I could just build wheels.

Yeah, didn't really think that one through. We heard the words "hills" and "free hotel room" and said yes. Oops.

I know there's quite a few animal (and music) lovers here...
If you get a chance, go to Itunes and check out Willies Nelsons cover of Wild Horses. If you buy, the proceeds go to helping stop the Bureau of Land Management from rounding up herds and sending them to slaughter. This video tells the story but is quite graphic so I will just link it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zl5yvCngMdw

I have not ridden the course but what I know of that area leads me to believe that it will be much more difficult than Bkill.

The oops part is that it's a short race that is really far away. Also, there are like 5 people signed up and they are all on the same team, from the area, and a brief results-stalking leads me to believe that they are all CX superstars. I'm gonna have my ass handed to me, and drive a million miles for the privilege.

Well I could just as easily get shelled 5 minutes from my apartment on Saturday! Oh well, at least I'm going with my favorite person. Well, one of the two. We'll have fun. Also, did I mention hills and a free hotel room?

short in mileage yes. short in duration/intensity no.

I suppose it depends on which course they choose but if it's over 100'/mile then I'd figure on a slow race average speed.

Bkill is more like 60' or 70' per mile.
