mmm delicious cyanide. Ok there isn't that much cyanide in them, but still, why would you want to eat the seeds?

A half dozen seeds a few times per week won't do anything - especially if the seeds aren't being cracked open. Please refer to your signature.
Why eat the seeds? I don't want to get back up to throw the core/remnants away. This policy goes for pretty much all snack foods.

Bummer about your buddy, John. That sucks. I hope they catch the jerk.
I'm striking out on this thread. My experiences thus far.
* Tried to keep up and got dropped.
* Came to post about getting my first team kit...poor timing due to tsunami.
* Tried to keep up, held on for a little while, then got dropped again.
* Came to post about my recent resolution that I am no longer only eating part of the apple. From now on, it's the whole thing --- core, seeds, stem, and the butt....and I happen upon sad news about a good guy who's no longer with us. Boo.

I spent the afternoon at the dentist's office and walked out with temporary crowns. For the first time in 10 months, i'm no longer reminded of my injury every time i smile. A few more weeks and everything will be set.

Extremely aggressive at the crit training race today. Even at the end I was off the front with 5 laps to go - had a good gap.
My teammate bridge up to me to help me stay off the front but the field was hungry. We were gobble up with 2 laps left and I was almost spit out the back.
It was a great training day.

Skipped training to do corrections to the various Bethel races on USAC's site. Commas, errors in spreadsheets, etc etc. 74 corrections in all.
I'm also really tired. A bit more paperwork and I'll be done with the races.

Thank you for all that you do for the Bethel Spring Series. I did three different spring series this year and I liked Bethel the best, even though I had better results at the other two. I hope that says a lot to you. You do a tremendous job, and we appreciate it.

Still working on my marriage. Things are improving. I've done a 180 and my wife has noticed and has even warmed up to me. I've been doing everything I can to make myself different and our marriage different without asking anything in return except changing her heart.
Now ... on to the bad news.
My coworker somehow fried two motherboards on his computer with his blackberry phone I think. The USB ports on both MBs have been destroyed beyond repair. I spent countless hours formatting hard drives, reinstalling the OS, and trying every trick on the net to get them back up and running to no avail. New computer on the way as well as a USB PCI card to see if I can at least salvage this computer.
This morning MY video and sound card fried completely. I mean, my damned video card was practically smoking. Something zapped the bejesus out of it and the left channel on my audio quit working. Haven't told my boss yet. I may be looking for a new job.
Which reminds me: A fellow racer and a good friend may offer me a job in the future. He thinks he can hire me for $10 to $20 grand more a year than what I'm making here. He also said my hours are flexible, I'll get insurance, and it's possibly easier than what I'm doing now. Plus he's a racer too so we can leave together to go train during the week whenever we want. Sounds almost too good to be true though. (breath not held).

Did you give me a win?

Then a teammate will let me know that another promoter wouldn't credit him his second race (of the day) entry to another week even though my teammate's bike was rendered unusable in the first race of that day. To me that seemed a bit harsh, especially for a series promoter (who can easily credit someone for a race later in the Series).
I forget that the spreadsheets we use automatically fill out all the USAC paperwork. I just look at a particular cell, write a check for that amount, and it's done. Results are automatically tabulated in a separate worksheet which I can then send as a csv file (except we had a lot of commas in team names and therefore errors). Etc etc. Usually the paperwork (minus the csv file to USAC) is done before the P123s finish (except P123 results) since all the entries etc are already in.
This year I struggled with sponsor relations, traffic, volleyball folks, landlord of the premises, missing portapotties, medal/trophy errors, the ever-present clueless drivers, the inevitable clueless or self-absorbed racer, incredibly impolite spectators (our women/children indoor toilet got clogged with feminine products, someone blew out a huge amount of mud-like substance all over the toilet and floor around it, and users left all sorts of wrappers and crap everywhere; I'm know the staff didn't do it - and that was just the first week!), etc etc etc.
I know I'm worried when my chest hurts, gets really tight. Or when my back has a really tight spot surrounded by what feels like jello-like flesh (i.e. super tight back surrounded by area that feels limp). I had the chest pain one week, the back pain two other weeks. That means I felt that three of the six weeks went really poorly. The other three went reasonably well, just normal stress.
I couldn't give away all the stuff we'd been given for merchandise so I'll be donating some significant primes to races where I remember to bring an item or two and where I have some affinity to the promoter. I can't keep any of it because my wife is a true-blue honest accountant; a new $200 Atmos or $120 Thule backpack will be noticed. Carpe Diem Racing will also have some giveaways for the Pedal For Paws ride in October.
So, for now, just the paperwork. Wait for the USAC checks to clear (they take forever). Police invoices to show up (they mailed them to the wrong address for a couple weeks, and I started to panic as I don't want to be in hoc with the PD). File clinic paperwork (it's not automated like the race stuff). Track down all the GC prize winners who were at Battenkill to get them trophies and prize money. I owe some letters and such to sponsors etc. Then settle back and see how the race went overall.

Good to hear.
As for the video card, one of mine went out two years ago. Of the six capacitors on it, four haven been blown (the thing just popped open). It must have had ran with three blown capacitors for quite a while before the fourth went, and it happened 4 months after warranty expired...
i hope i'll get a chance to do your race next year

Wow, that totally made my day. I was getting coffee when my friend at work said "Damn, girl, you have got some seriously ripped legs. That is a lot of muscle you have built there."
That felt 100x better than all of the "wow, you look great, you're so thin!" comments I used to get when I was really skinny.
