Happy Birthday Sub. You share the same birthday as the Boy Scouts of America. Coincidence...I think not.

For nearly a year I often (and only) descended Fernwood as an end to my SM travels. I didn't think I would like it as a climb, but I've since come to really enjoy it.

YB is on my short list this year.

This was one of my favorite routes...be prepared to suffer:

YB to Little Sycamore to Mulholland to Decker to PCH south to Mulholland back up to Decker toward Westlake to Mulholland to Stunt up stunt to Piuma to Costa Del Sol to PCH to Encinal back up to Mulholland/Decker back to Westlake. This ride is Epic.

I started doing this ride when I moved to Austin the fist time and traveling back LA for work. I was staying with a friend in TO and working nights at Access Hollywood. You can change it up once you get across Las Virginas. Take Piuma instead of Stunt then down Stunt to Old Topanga to Fernwood.

The up/down options are endless, all of them painful, all of them fun.

You did night work! Perfect for cycling.

I rode outside today. It wasn't quite like I remembered it. There were no beautiful women singing songs of joy while riding unicorns alongside me. Mostly just bad drivers and cold air. It was still 743 times better than the trainer.

Yeah I worked Sun-Thurs 4pm to midnight. Get on the bike around 9am and put in a solid 2-5 hours in Gods country for training.

battery in my SUV died suddenly. It worked great for 8 years and then blammo.

I had to de-winterize my summer car to go get a new one.

installing now.. optima red top AGM battery. Hopefully no issues.

But the bad news is that you had to edit stories about Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie and Madonna.

Yeah but when I went to work there in 99 my wife had just gotten pregnant and I needed a 'real' job with a consistent income. It became so easy to edit this stuff I basically spent the night watching TV while I edited. I had been pretty lucky throughout my career up till then and I had worked on some really fun stuff, my resume was pretty well padded.
