I like DZ. Seems like a funny eccentric guy. What's so wrong with that?

the difference between diluca's face and menchov's is incredible! menchov looks like he's out for a sunday stroll to the cafe while diluca looks like he's sprinting for the line, only it lasts for the entire 15km climb instead of 10 seconds.

Di Luca's facial expressions remind me of Hinault's. When he's cruising, he's got a grim look, but when he's attackign his teeth are gritted and he's got a piercing look in his eyes.
Menchov rarely breaks character.

menchov's face on the climb plus this breaking story about rabobank riders and a blood bank are giving me that bad feeling you get when you find out another grand tour is total bs once again.

Frunkin 05-27-09 09:22 PM

Did you see him after crossing the line? He almost passed out on his bike. Not to mention that he couldn't match that final sprint. I think (hope) Menchov is clean, and I'm definitely pulling him.

old news

botto 05-28-09 06:14 AM

i got an email today, from a friend who moved to tuscany last fall.

he was raving about the italian tv coverage, and how the whole village is inside watching TV dring he giro.

the best part of the email is about his 78 year old neighbor. apparently she saw Eddy M on a local climb, back in 1968. as he rode past - the first time she had ever seen him in person - she says "oh, you are lovely" and he said "thank you."

Grumpy McTrumpy 05-28-09 06:17 AM

that hasn't happened to me yet :P

Grumpy McTrumpy 05-28-09 06:18 AM

I have had a few dogs take a shine to me on climbs. They express it quite differently from that 78 year old lady though.

She had ever seen him in person - she says "oh, you are lovely" and he said "thank you."

Now back to talking Giro...but only with people who have style.

You are constantly criticizing or putting other posters down. Your "style" or lack thereof is tedious. Just saying.

Having been around here just a little longer than you...given a choice between you or botto...I'll take botto...he may not have the tolerance for fools that most here have but he's a hell of a lot more entertaining and informative than said fools.
