I got 9 hours in the last week. 2 hrs was racing.
It seems I am perpetually trying to get into the 10-12 hr range, and never quite making it.

I know that there will be no speed in my legs until June next year (when it finally warms up) so I don't care though I do miss the laughs of a long ride...

Dude it was like 34 this morning. I will own up to it I am a sissy when it gets cold. I would rather ride for 5 hours at 100 degrees than 2 hours at 40 degrees. That's why July/August is always my 'peak' time of year.

Yeah yeah I've heard that threat before. I'll even give you a head start.
I'm not training serious until March so get going...
You just wait until I get my sprint legs back...
When you see them you'll look like a puppy when they get excited and pee in your Sidis...

Trained in the rain with (part of the core of the team) on Saturday, solo in the dry on Sunday.
Need to start upping hours but it's so damn wet and I've become weak in terms of riding in the rain!

When I worked in a shop, I didn't think twice about riding in the rain, now that it's more difficult to service everything I am less eager to get out there.

fair weather cyclist
Did my first try of 40-20's ever. think I went out a bit hard, and wound up slightly under Pvo2max for the last bunch. Also due to steep hill, the 20" rest often looked like 150 watts instead of ~50. overall pretty interesting. I had no idea how many I had done and was aiming for 15, and ended up with 13. Thought that it was also interesting that my overall avg power including rests was higher than I would have expected.
I could see these being useful... i'll try honing in on the right power and rest and give it another go after the weather clears.

Making a kilometer blurry
First threshold workout of this cycle (finished up 8-wk base last week). The cooler weather bumped my asthma and knocked me out of the workout halfway through. I was doing 6x5x1s, and showing about a 20W improvement from 9 weeks ago, but I couldn't breathe at that rate any more and had to stop during the 4th one.

Anyone care to comment on how much their FTP changed during last season? Either raw numbers or percentage. I would guess that there should be variation depending on how many prior years of training experienced (among other factors), so that might be a good number to post too.

i weigh 155 lbs in regular weight, 145-150 for natz and im sitting near 163 right now becuase ive become lazy. Ill start realing in my weight this week, but im not too concerned about a couple extra lbs (helps me stay heathy during the harsh winter months.
i've technically been training for 2 years, but this was my first really serious year where i worked consistently throughout the winter and tried to get into shape.
Currently am a cat 2 (4 to 2 this season) with ambitions of being a cat 1, and really hoping to score a pro contract eventually even just for a bit to try it out.

little note just to help you out: ride tempo and not huge hours during week, then do large volume days consistantly spinnign (talking average rpm of 95+ for 3-4 hour ride including zeros) at z2. makes a big difference. Also add in some long z3 (i do 3 hour z3 intervals at low acadence later in the winter)
