I must be in the quality over quantity phase of the year. I am riding about 7-9hrs a week and having no problem contesting sprints in training rides or helping out teammates a little in races. i also think i got a handle on the EIA and how to use my inhaler.

too bad i am going to Japan in 2 weeks for a month and can't bring a bike. Good times, thank you Navy, may i have another.

Had 2 hour team ride in the rain. Only about 6-7 of us out there, but they were all very strong riders (me being the exception of course ). Set a new max, 1 minute, and 60' power numbers (doesn't mean much, this was my first "hammerfest" with my pt).

Good ride, legs didn't feel great though and I got dropped pretty hard towards the end of the ride. Another group ride tomorrow.

It's north, and probably will remain North Saturdays for the remainder of the summer. We roll out with the "Sunrise Ride", so we're sort of limited in options. Last week we went up to Watermelon Park, but didn't follow the Santa Fe route, instead we took some back roads I know past my in-law's place off of Tustenuggee near Lake City. I'm not sure what we'll do this weekend, but the general consensus is 4-5 hours is what we'd all like to see.

BTW, Daryl T's going to be racing Leadville, so he's trying to get some volume, and the rest of us are just looking for longer rides.

Last night was my second of the bi-weekly TT's this year. I was 10s faster this week than last and the really fast guys were on ave 25s slower than last week. I am pleased especially since I wasn't on a great night last night..had some stomach "issues" over the last three days. Ex looked over my file and my pacing was pretty poor so I've got to work on that some. Good news is that my position is very good from both an aero and power perspective.

Lots and lots of rain, skipping the Wednesday night ride. I'll probably do some z2/z3 on the rollers.

Wife got sent to Cape Canaveral Florida for 20 days, so we all decided to come out to take advantage of the free hotel/rental car/food. Of course I had to mail my bike here. Didn't want to risk the expensive bike, so I shipped the 25lb cheapo bike.

I'm paying for it. The bike feels like a brick compared to my new one. I got pwned pretty severely at last week's Wednesday club ride of the spacecoast freewheelers (nice 28 miles route up and down the Indian River, 5 miles from Cocoa). Coming from the cooler, thinner air of new mexico to the wall of humidity down in Florida caught me off guard. Plus I think the saddle was a bit off. I've gotten the bike tweaked better and am a little more used to the heat/humidity. We'll see how tonight's club ride goes.

uggh. knee was bothering me before I even got down the stairs. tried to ride for real, but it definitely wasn't to be. I rolled around at high cadence for 30 minutes.

I've been riding hard and at low cadences lately. I'm stronger at low cadence, but apparently my knees don't appreciate it so much.

EDR - sweet on the TT

UMD - Dang dude, that's rockin'

FB - Don't underestimate spinning it up. If something brings about unhealthy pain, try to not do it. Good luck.

but why do the pros get to play diesel and I don't? It's not fair. I'm stronger at 80 rpm than I am at 100, and I feel much more comfortable.

Not questioning that. I'm somewhat similar. I'm commenting more on your pain and the importance of not aggravating your knees.

I've got a fair bit of intensity from the earlier part of this week, and it is going to be followed up by a pretty big weekend mileage wise. Satuday is Jeremy Powers' "Grand Fundo," 64mi, 3000ft of climbing, and 20mi of dirt. Sunday is a 100mi charity ride, first century of the year for me.

She actually works with information gathered from satellites.

Florida folk are pretty darn fast. ~20 riders showed up at the Wednesday ride and I managed to hang onto the front pack. It's an interesting ride, going north 8 miles - turn around, return to start, go 6 miles south, turn around, return to start. The group goes all out, then pauses ~ 5 min for a regroup at each turnaround and once in the middle. Definitely more stops than I'm used to in such a short distance. But also more power laid down than I'm used to. We averaged 25mph on the first leg. It hurt.
