Little jaunt we did in a memorial ride on Sunday:
Only 2400' of climbing so we kept the pace high.

Entire workout (231 watts):
Duration: 2:47:44 (3:27:54)
Work: 2311 kJ
TSS: 214.2 (intensity factor 0.879)
Norm Power: 281
VI: 1.22
Pw:HR: n/a
Pa:HR: n/a
Distance: 61.281 mi
Min Max Avg
Power: 0 953 231 watts
Cadence: 25 166 90 rpm
Speed: 2.9 41.1 22.1 mph
Pace 1:28 20:59 2:43 min/mi
Hub Torque: 0 353 77 lb-in

PR'd my 1 minute on the last climb since I've gotten the PowerTap back.

Two weeks away from full weight bearing on the leg. With a little luck in 3-4 weeks maybe, just maybe, back on the bike. So what if it's spinning along at 3 mph :shrugs:

Training status: sore throat, muscle aches, queasy stomach, headache

It's a rest week or two anyway. The easy 3 mile commute in this morning did not feel good. I'm hoping that it doesn't get any worse.

Dr's apt set for tomorrow afternoon.

The worst part about this is that my knee doesn't hurt when running or riding. I actually raced cross a few times with it feeling iffy, but it actually felt better after that than it did after riding the road bike.

In hindsight, that might not have been the best idea, and rest might have served it better. I suppose I might actually get some work done around these parts. Heh.

wow. Google is really smart.

So why is it ramping up so early this year? Does their search term model fall apart due to swine flu (sorry, H1N1 ) hysteria?

Training status? F-ed up. Or at least my power meter is. Or at least I think so. I did a tempo TT today (focused on 10 beats below my LTHR which you can all say is variable, and it is, but I also know what a tempo TT feels like and this was it). Problem? My LTHR is 181, and therefore 171 is my target as always for these things. I usually come a little bit under target, but that is fine. Still, a 20 minute tempo interval?

Peak 20min (344 watts):
Duration: 20:00
Work: 412 kJ
TSS: 38.7 (intensity factor 1.077)
Norm Power: 345
VI: 1
Pw:HR: 3.21%
Pa:HR: -2.5%
Distance: 8.098 mi
Min Max Avg
Power: 0 529 344 watts
Heart Rate: 120 183 169 bpm
Cadence: 34 112 95 rpm
Speed: 10.6 33.8 24.3 mph
Pace 1:47 5:41 2:28 min/mi
Crank Torque: 0 566 306 lb-in
Temperature: 53.6 57.2 55.8 Fahrenheit

Bodes well for next season?

Still off the bike. I've ridden a grand total of 8 miles in October so far. My legs are smaller, my lungs feel weak. This sucks.

Saw the doc again today and did some more blood work to pinpoint the exact cause. Probably still several weeks out from a potential solution tho.

It's only October. Still lots of time for training. I've been off since I crashed on the 4th, I'm not that worried. A little bit of time off never hurt anyone, you'll be fine.

My knee was feeling fine today until I rode my fixed back from the gym. It's acting up again now.
Didn't bother me earlier when I was riding the fixed. I can pedal using mostly my left leg when I'm on that, so that helps. I get out of the saddle if I hit anything, and that doesn't bother it as much as riding seated. Guess lesson is to ride standing everywhere...

Ugh, time for some more ibuprofen.

Edit: Fixed has f/r brakes so I'm not resisting with my legs to stop.

Went for a 90 minute ride to flush the legs a bit after racing yesterday...took it easy on the flats and, for some reason, I felt like standing and pumping hard on every climb...so, I did and it was good I'm going to chill for a bit and then figure out what I'm going to do for off season training...someone did suggest that I look into a computrainer contraption...I still have my trusty and loud wind-trainer from many moons ago...however, I'll likely be looking for a "quiet" trainer...

Primarily the frozen tundra...but, last year I rode outdoors every time up there, even in the snow, although, I had an isolated set of roads for doing that safely...a trainer intrigues me because it sounds like I could have a bit more control when using power -- I have an srm -- in my workouts...I am prepared to engage some formal power workouts...

If you can afford it, there's nothing like a computrainer.
