90' of tempo on the FG. Windy and a bit of rain, but pleasant when you're dressed for it.

I'm sunburned. A little early in the year for that, but I'll roll with it.

yeah, its nice. Chagrin river road has a fair number of short vo2 max style hills, plus its only like a 20 minute ride form my house (if i need it to be, this last set was an hour to old mill, due to some climbing during my warm up)

also i need to remember to bring my garmin sometime so i can post a faster time for old mill. im the kom but the time isnt really anything special.

40 minutes of easy on the trainer. I'm looking forward to Sunday and seeing where I am in my process.

3 solid days of 2hr commutes, with a gain of ~50 TSS combined between the three days more than usual.

A friend turned 41 yesterday. We took him mountain biking at his request, 2:15, some hard jumps in there. My toes cramped.

Got my broke ass outta bed at 5:30 this morning (and dragged my poor girlfriend with me) for 1:30 mostly easy, with some 1' efforts, 2 x 10' tempo, and 2 x 5' high-cadence. My legs, predictably, felt like garbage after taking it easy all week.

I cannot ****ing wait to race my bike tomorrow. And the next day. And every weekend from here to October.

while I admire the enthusiasm 40 degrees and pissing rain would be a pretty good excuse to sleep in and save your best legs for Sunday. getting sick or hurt the first day of the season isn't worth it in a part of the country where you can race 5 days a week, often multiple times.

She could die if she raced multiple times in one day.

Hey now, I've been trying to talk myself into this all week, don't give me any more excuses!

It's totally going to be a balmy 47, and my best legs are still about three months away. I also live all of 9 minutes from the start line--I'll be on the road at 5:45 and back in bed by 8.

2nd day on the new plan, partial fail on the trainer. Could only do 2 of the last sets. I've got to get on the road.

7x - 4min Z2 (power), 2min Z4
4x - 4min Z4, 6min Z1, 150 meter sprint

15hrs this week, 295 miles. Feel fresher than I did at the beginning.

I think it is safe to say that I am doing it right.

Coach has me taking 2 days off, after which he's transitioning me into intervals. Told me to find lots of hills and climb them as fast as I can. "I want you to taste blood after every interval. Don't stop until you reach the top". Also, 4x10min @ 30mph+ with 5min rest between efforts. Also, lots of other tasty, terribly hurty things.

I am contented.

1:30 JRA, mostly Z2 and Z3.

Checked out a couple new-to-me hills I found out about. Neither of them had any advantage over the hills I currently train on (unless you count crappy pavement and lots of traffic) so I was pretty disappointed. If anyone in the Hartland/Howell MI area knows of any 3' hills around here please let me know!

You cover many more miles in 15 hours than I do. Which comes as a surprise to nobody, but still.

From what I remember riding out of Manhattan cut my avg mph by like 1-1.5mph. Dealing with traffic/traffic lights to dodging pedestrians on the GWB.

Training status: commuted yesterday; there was supposed to be light snow on the way in (cool!), but instead it was light drizzle... boo. Rode home in the dark without a tail light, b/c I just don't give an F.
