that sounds so wrong but so right at the same time. Tomorrow is the Thanksgiving stuff-your-face-a-palooza at my job which will feature a pernil (roast pork Puerto Rican style) and other goodies. Good thing I've been riding a lot.

Those are dangerously good. My cousin made some last year for a dinner party and it took great restraint to not eat the whole tray.

After a few attempts I can now make falafel that I'm happy with, spicy and very crunchy.

Agreed--one of my favorite foods! When I am feeling extra fancy I add some raisins, strawberries, raw oats, honey, and cinnamon.

I read the _Paleo for Athlete's_ book. I'm really interested in having a good diet, losing weight, being strong, etc. For me, that's too severe. I'm just not interested in defining my life by things I can't eat. It doesn't matter whether than means Paleo, Veggie or religion (Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, etc.).

The 'Race Weight' book is interesting in that is comes out and says that there are no absolutes in diets. There are top knotch athletes in every sport that have wildly varying diets. In the end, it comes to down to one basic idea. Eat good food and eat an appropriate amount of it.

Some days all I want to eat is breakfast food.

So far today I have had toast with peanut butter, an egg sandwich, more toast with peanut butter, oatmeal with greek yogurt and strawberries, and oatmeal with raisins and soy milk. Dinner will probably be peanut butter toast and greek yogurt. Also, lots and lots of coffee.

Lunch and snacks were vegetables, chicken, fruit, nuts, and hummus, but still.

Watching the news, I saw a stat that by the year 2020, over 83% of men and 72% of women (in the USA) will be considered overweight, or obese.

Unless we change our habits of course.
Ha...

I can't believe no one posted in this thread yesterday. Damn slackers.
Of course, no one wants to admit they gained 5 lbs over the last 2 days because of yesterdays feast and todays leftovers.

Thursday I cooked a turkey on the grill and made a huge mess of Brussels sprouts with butter, shallots, chicken broth, half and half, and chestnuts. This was then transported to my in-law's house (turkey in a cooler) for a large dinner. I also brought 4 bottles of wine (2 Gary Ferrall chardonnays and a run-of-the-mill Oregon Pinot Gris).

Last night was Thai take-out late in the evening.

Today I'm smoking a pork shoulder. Spawn1 is home from college for the break and he asked for this especially. Also I'm sure that a large number of people will invade my house to watch the UF-FSU football game this evening. There will be plenty of pulled pork sandwich fixins.
