Brings back memories. I went to see these guys in the mid 80s. Me and another white bread cracker were probably a couple of only a dozen in the whole concert arena. Better odds than when we went to see Public Enemy the year before.

I really like band of horses...

Need to get a mix going with them and iron and wine. It'll be awesome.

While I've been at college, the preponderance of funk bands/bands featuring a lot of brass, etc has been pretty high. Their covers of superstition are freaking incredible. I love going to those concerts.

I know right. I wish I had some recordings I could share.

Over the last few years these are the kinds of things I've seen:

Orchestra fiebre: Salsa music. Lots of brass, lots of dancing, lots of awesome.
Buru Style: Myspace them, really good funk/soul music. They play with toussaint liberator who sang for soulive for a bit.
Soulive: Incredible soul/jazz fusion. I love good instrumental stuff.
Brother Ali: Incredible independent hip hop/rap.
Strokes cover band
Beatles cover band

So many other really interesting thing. I love the big band stuff though. Really good dancing music.

I'm bummed because there was supposed to be a day long outdoor concert tonight, but it had to be canceled for chance of rain. The rain isn't there and there's no concert. :/

Good times. I was diggin' Stevie's super thick, distorted and syncopated riffs on Boogie on Reggae Woman a few min ago.

For the time being, Antonio Carlos Jobim - Insensatez. Perfect to calm my nerves before my biochem exam in 1 hr. I hate biology....

And if I'd been here a few years ago, I would have seen MGMT playing around campus cause they went here.

Wes is good times I need to get my hands on some of his music.
I've hardly even heard him since I left my parent's house 5 years ago.
