do you slide forward onto the nose of your saddle? (make/model)
CAVEAT: I am asking this question specific to road racing bicycles, not time trial machines. Also I am referring to "riding on the rivet" (sliding forward on purpose)
The reason being that I have a nice saddle for sliding forward on my TT bike (Cobb) but my road bikes both have Aliante saddles (comfortable unless I get up on the nose)
I have also realized that I spend a lot more time on the nose than I used to, so I guess it's time to try some other saddles.
I am thinking of trying the new Cobb road racing saddle.
Any info appreciated...

San Marco Regal (old school). I slide forward pretty easily especially if pushing into a headwind. It's still reasonably comfortable "on the rivet" but it's a great saddle when I keep my butt back.

I've never found that position uncomfortable with either a Toupe or my current Arione. It's riding in the middle on those seats that causes long term discomfort. As in back in the proper position and not over the nose enjoying some hammer time.

Yes, a lot (sliding up). Aliante on the road bike. It's actually nicely shaped for "on the rivet" efforts as the upward slope keeps the bb/saddle distance closer to ideal.
You may want to look at changing seat posts to something with more setback which would allow a bit more flex in the rails which would soften up the ride.

I used to do this during very hard pulls when I rode an Arizone or Antares but now I'm on an Aliante and I can't say I find much comfort on the front of that saddle so I've stopped. I think I'm going to go back to an Antares on my race bike just for this reason.

I've tried all the saddles mentioned on this thread so far.
Aliante, arione, SLR, toupe, Aspide, Titanio, and god knows what else. The only one I'm 100% comfortable on is the SMP. For real, stop worrying about what the saddle looks like and buy a used one off ebay. Too many people don't like the pain curve on the sitbones but after a few rides it's fine. If you don't like it, you'll get your money back on ebay. You'll love it if you get the width right. There's nothing physically there to cause discomfort. It's amazing.

^^^ I've really been tempted, but just haven't pulled the trigger on an SMP. My brain knows that there's probably nothing wrong with the "beak" but my heart tells me that my behind isn't going to be happy.

I'm not going to make you buy a saddle, but this is the only one I've ever found that worked for me. 0 perineum pain, etc.
Bdcheung also swapped to them after a long trial and error period with other saddles if I'm not mistaken.

I have an SMP Composit and I love it -- when I have good bibs on. I did not like it a bit today with the old Descente shorts with a chamois as effective as three sheets of newspaper. Thinking of getting a padded SMP. May even get an old San Marco.
