Not this time, but i've done it 3 times (as a WCCC stanford road race).

Lots of rolling, big-ring style climbing with a decently long flat-stretch after/before the start/finish. Expect a headwind on the way back, as the race will be an out-and-back.

FWIW, the first two times I did this race there were attacks and breakaways that were unsuccesfull. The last time I did it (in april I think) there was an attack that drew out 4-5 strong guys and it stuck.

I would also expect it to be very hot, but seeing as how you live in hollister you are probably used to that. BTW, the WCCC conference champs road race was held close to holister off of Cienega road. It was a great course.

I did it. My teammate that encouraged me to do it ended up in skidding in gravel, fractured his hip, and was life-flighted to a trauma center.

I talked to him on the phone. (he's my teammate too). Found out through a team email.

Not in pain if he doesn't move. had surgery on hip. helmet saved his head.

Super nice guy, wished him a speedy recovery. Really made me reflect on the 1/2 dozen or more close calls I've had this year.

There is some talk of that, but I wasn't there and I really didn't want to ask him too much about it while on the phone. Just tried to wish him a quick recovery.

I heard there was an airlift, I really hope he's ok. This is the kind of crap that doesn't belong in sport.
