So I have been hitting the foam roller again now that mileage has picked up. I typically have tight IT bands but noticed a few things. I am also stretching with a rope, I take the rope around the ball of my foot laying down and try to raise it up to my face, keeping the leg fully extended to help stretch things out. Well, I have noticed that my IT band is too tight while doing this stretch on my right leg that it hurts fully extended.

I don't notice this any other time and maybe I need to take a tennis ball to that area to really work things out but it is frustrating as I really want to get a bit more flexible this year too and don't want this holding me back.

Any other similar experience/thoughts?
