sorry you have to remove the glue from the rim. aside from base tape issues (which are hard to control), that shouldn't be necessary very often when you use the gluing technique you've chosen.
Conti comps that came with my 303 tubular. I basically wasn't sure if the tire was leaking (it had one of those cheap valve extenders, so i really couldn't tell what the pressure is). Not to mention that the extender that came with it didn't play well with my pump. So i tried to thread on my own valve extender and thought that i ripped the tube at the valve stem while trying to install my own extender, thus prompting me to pull the tire. Ugh...

To my surprise, it's actually a very well glued tire, and edge at which the tire meets the rim is really smooth. I had to go to town with a teaspoon to get the tire off, and i'm not really sure if i trust the coats left on there to build on top of it.

His power estimations are probably pretty good for constant state conditions; I just dislike it for modelling sprints. It's not hard to see that he was beginning to use the sheet to estimate things like how far out he should start to sprint ("would get you 300m") and that's where the assumption is IMO too far from reality.

Sorry I called the spread sheet crap.

How long can 4 adults meander around a farmers market collecting snacks for our 2-mile "hike"?!?!?
This town also smells of marlboros and dreadlocks, and I'm ****ing from SF.

My boss accidentally used a porn photo for his facebook account when he first set it up. He couldn't figure out why his kids were all liking it and asked me to take a look. "Well, your profile pic is a woman rubbing one out...you might want to change that."

People that don't understand the internet, shouldn't be able to look at porn on it.

You kidding me? A 13 year old would have it figured out in 10 seconds. I think he's 52.

one thing about contis is that the base tape usually comes off in one, nice piece. why did you think you ripped the tube? did you inflate it and then test for pressure loss over time?

a teaspoon won't affect the glue, but i understand not necessarily trusting someone else's glue job.

hopefully after all the effort you will have a fast and safe tire, so it will all be worth it!

Tire Alert in Florida. Well worth it if the casing and tread are in good shape.

I hate mosquitoes. 2nd night of getting eaten alive, relatively speaking. At least I killed a few that got me and maybe half dozen that were empty. Mosquitoes drove me out of bed just now.

In other news my MIL walked in on me stepping out of the shower. I thought it was the Missus (I don't wear my glasses into the shower and the door is well beyond my focused-vision range) so didn't cover up or anything. The Missus and her had these big smiles on their faces afterward.

Lovebugs are out again in Louisiana. Not only do I have to clean them off my vehicles, but I also have to brush them off my arms and legs while riding. When I took my jersey off after yesterday's ride, a couple had managed to get in there as well. Yuk.

Reminds me of the gypsy moth plague many years ago. The dang caterpillars were all over the place. They would get kicked up by the front wheel and get wrapped around the gear cables and splattered under the downtube.

I'm thinking about picking up a new Powertap G3 and lace them into my current carbon clinchers that have been bullet proof this season.

I have had absolutely no issues with my Quarq Riken and love how solid it's been. The main issue is that I only have one set of wheels and my Quarq. Which means everytime I go to ride my TT bike I have to swap wheels and crank. This sounds easy in theory, and it doesn't take long (~10 mins), but it's a huge pain. And I end up avoiding spending time on the TT bike. I think I only rode it for like 5 times other than TTs this season. The main reason I originally got the Quarq was because I was thinking I wanted a disc on the TT bike and I wanted a trainer wheel for when I ride the trainer. Well, I decided trainers suck and I'd rather ride in the rain, and I've realized having the disc isn't a huge deal and I could always buy a cover for the TT races of the season.

My main questions is this. If I get the hub with the same number of holes, can I use the same spokes? It looks like from reading online they may need to be different lengths? I like the spokes on this wheel now. And of course would like to keep things matching.

All you need for that would be an blank Excel sheet. Type in the word "NO" in A1 then highlight the empty cells and use the FILL function.

Probably not. Spoke length is determined by hub flange diameter (at the spoke hole), hub width, lacing pattern, and erd (effective rim diameter). PT hubs are pretty big, so it's unlikely your current hub is the same dimension.

There are spoke length calculators you can download such as spocalc that will do the math for you.

Don't yell at them, just call the cops and let them take care of it. They'll never listen to you anyway.

Interesting Vuelta stage. I get the feeling that the guy who finished second was simply out-maneuvered by the guy who finished first. It was a chess match as much as it was a display of horsepower, I think. I'm getting into this one a little.
